Joshua: Hey, Tomomi, do you want to go skydiving next weekend?
Tomomi: Skydiving! What has gotten into you? I didn’t know that you are an adrenaline junkie.
Joshua: C’mon, T. Don’t you want to experience the adrenaline rush of falling through air and wondering if our chutes will open?
Tomomi: Not really. We have a kid and we are responsible for her. Being a parent means that we have to give up on our impulses. We always have to adult ourselves now. We are not spring chickens any longer.
Joshua: We always adult. We work. We pay our bills. We are sensible.
Tomomi: Is skydiving when you’re 52 acting like a mature adult?
Joshua: I think you like to admonish me for my ideas.
Tomomi: Only when they are harebrained.
Joshua: So, I guess going to Machu Pichu is out of the question.
Tomomi: You really do live in cloud-cuckoo land.

Tomomi: adrenaline rush: when you feel your body change and become excited because you are doing something thrilling
Joshua: to adult: this is a verb. It means to act like an adult. Be mature and responsible.

Tomomi: harebrained: stupid and crazy
Joshua: cloud-cuckoo land: a crazy daydream that will never come true
