In 1987, I was living in the International Students’ Hall at the University of New Hampshire when some Japanese exchange students asked me if I would tutor them in English. After their first lesson, I was hooked on teaching English as a second/foreign language. Three weeks after graduating in 1991, I moved to Yokohama, Japan, and since then I have been teaching ESOL, English, Spanish, French, Russian, and beginning Japanese. Currently, I teach face-to-face, online, and remote courses at the college and university levels. In addition to my formal teaching, I teach private students individually, in small groups, and corporate ESOL and Spanish.

I look forward to meeting you and creating a customized course for you. Please contact me at jhalsband@eslforall.com.
